Reporting Poverty Campaign

Our Reporting Poverty campaign seeks to challenge the stereotypes and demonisation in the media of the working poor and people in receipt of benefits.
We have created new guidelines for journalists to be used with the union’s Code of Conduct and other materials tackling racism, sexism and forms of bigotry and harassment.
We sought the advice of experts at Church Action on Poverty to create a Guide to Reporting Poverty for journalists.
We also collaborated with Church Action on Poverty to compile a Report supporting the campaign.
